Selling and promoting MSC certified sustainable seafood means you’re supporting fishing communities working hard to fish sustainably.
The MSC program is the world’s most recognized seafood certification program. MSC certification helps you to meet a growing global demand for sustainable seafood, strengthens your reputation, and offers new business opportunities.
“Using the MSC blue fish label educates and involves our customers in protecting ocean ecosystems for future generations.”

Assurance
Substitution and mislabeling of fish and seafood are global problems. Retailers, brands, and consumers need to be sure that the MSC blue fish label only appears on seafood from certified sustainable fisheries. To provide this assurance, we have developed a set of requirements, set out in the MSC Chain of Custody Standard, which ensure MSC certified seafood is traceable from ocean to plate. To sell seafood with the MSC blue fish label, companies in the supply chain must be certified to this standard, and follow the requirements set out by the MSC.
We regularly monitor the MSC certified supply chain, carrying out tracebacks and DNA testing, to ensure the integrity of MSC labelled products.
Aquaculture and fish feed
Our Chain of Custody Standard is also used by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) to ensure the integrity of farmed fish (aquaculture) products sold with the green ASC label.Americas Commercial Team
