MSC på NASF 2025

Attendee: 1000 representatives from the seafood industry, mostly from the North Atlantic region

The North Atlantic Seafood Forum (NASF) is the world's largest top executive seafood business conference, bringing together over 900 CEOs, experts, investors, and analysts annually in Bergen, Norway. The forum provides a comprehensive program offering insights into markets, technology, sustainability, and industry challenges.  

This year's NASF, held from March 4th to 6th, 2025, marked its 20th edition. The program featured sessions on salmon welfare, the blue food transition, advances in fishing techniques, and sustainable offshore aquaculture. 

 

MSC Participants and Their Contributions 

Erin Priddle: Spoke on the significance of wild-capture ingredients in aquafeed during the ingredient seminar, highlighting the role of blue whiting.

Raymond Dhirani: Partook in a panel emphasizing the integration of sustainability in investment strategies, underscoring the importance of sustainable practices to investors. Other participants were with Torgeir Svae, Investment Director, Kverva, Alf-Helge Aarskog, Industry Expert and Jann Molnes, Fund Manager at Holberg. He represented both the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) and the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC). 

Camiel Derichs: attended as representative from PDT supporting Ray. 

Gisli Gislason: Presented at the pelagic summit, focusing on the absence of agreements among North Sea states concerning shared pelagic stock. After the presentation both he and Janicke were interviewed by the staff at NASF to share their thoughts and insights on the presentations and topics of Pelagic Tuesday.  

Seth McCurry: Presented at the Global White Fish Summit. At a session focused on whitefish, quotas, and financial and political implications, Seth’s presentation gave a great addition to how sustainability and the MSC is a key part of the solution.  

Pia Tuxen: Managed the display of MSC videos throughout the forum and captured photographs for future communications. 

Janicke Eckhoff: Moderated the sustainability seminar, steering panel discussions with pertinent questions and effective facilitation.
